Apology Series Part 8: How Not To....

Play for Audio Version

Hold up. I can't say tht these words that I am about to share will positively / negatively affect people. I really don't know if what I'm about to share is or is not a necessity for all people. I really do not know that because I really am not "tight" with most of you people who read my blog. And, the truth is everyone is different.

Now, when I heard these thoughts from Dr. Chapman and Ms. Thomas, at 1st I was a little surprised. Because, what the heck? Are these 2 people reading my mind from afar? I was in 100% agreement with what they were saying! Of course, I knew they were not. I'm just being silly.

Since their thoughts came to me like a "you got it right on dude" type of revelation? I wanted to share them with you guys! Check it out!

Ways NOT to Apologize.

* Don't blame, make excuses or deny.

* Don't tell the person you are apologizing to that they are too sensitive.

Don't say you were joking (never works)

Don't make coparisons " You sound Like your Father!"

* I am sorry THAT YOU WERE.....

* I asked for and received forgiveness from God

* I Should be excused because...

* Why do you always....

* If you hadn't...

* That's just silly

* That's life!

* I'm Sorry that  you were offended

* Haven't you gotten over that yet?

* Give me a break

* You need to get over it

* There's nothing I can do about it now

* Can't take away the past

* Do not Apologize when he or she is busy doing something else. Like watching TV, washing dishes, cooking, or playing games

* Don't say FML ( f---- My Life)   Because guess who is a part of That life

Those are some tips from Dr Chapman, Ms. Thomas, and Mrs. Samantha Tongol-Verdaguer ( I took the liberty of adding in some of my own points or tips I have personally discovered from apologizing )

Matthew 7:3-5

Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?  Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye?  You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
