Peekaboo Part 4 Stumbling Block (Conclusion)

When I first became a believer, I never even thought of the words stumbling block and its significance when utilizing the term as a way of negatively influencing other believers. If others fell into sin too bad and so sad, that was their own problem right?  Wrong! Well, if I was the one that even brought falling into that sin in their minds.  I confess to being the one who caused someone to fall because I was the stumbling block and I know there have been plenty times when I have been the falling one due to being introduced to the sin.

Do you see how important the words "Stumbling Block" really is?  Take me for example, I am gonna evaluate myself as if I am from the outside looking in,  I see a kinda young adult woman who is married, with a loving family and friends and seems to be a true woman of God.  The outsider is a new believer as well.  And, I really should be a good example of how a true believer acts right? I guess the ending of this example can go both ways of being a good and happy continuation or a bad continuation.

That is what I am trying to really point out, the true believers are being watched if they don't know it already.  I want to  share an example from my life, without specifics, of course.  I engaged in a sin that was pretty public to nonbelievers and believers.  I felt God speaking to my heart and I believe God sent another more mature believer to counsel me and remind me I must  remedy that sin.  I knew if I continued with my sin and chose not to have any correction, I would be a stumbling block to others.  I would rather skip the  explanations and such elaboration of reason that probably would not have even any merit whatsoever. So, I decided to resolve the problem  :)

Now, believe me, in the past I have been in other situations that have not all ended with a happy ending.  However, I just wanted to share my thoughts of how I believe that true believers can really be "stumbling blocks" to others.  So, just be aware of your actions and know others are watching you.

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. (‭Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭13‬ NIV)

Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to 2the weak. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭8‬:‭9‬ NIV)

We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭3‬ NIV)
