I am talking about forgiveness. Even Christian recording artist, Matthew West, sings about the difficulty of forgiveness in his well known, great and, very genuine song, "Forgivenesss."
It begins with, "It's the hardest thing to give away. And the last thing on your mind today. It always goes to those who don't deserve. It's the opposite of how you feel when the pain they caused is just too real. Takes everything you have to say the word. Forgiveness."
Yeah, I think Matthew West's song, " Forgiveness" is pretty spot on. I mean when it comes to describing the difficulty of such a thing as forgiveness.
Friends, did you know that no matter how many times someone wrongs you? You still have to forgive them. Let me repeat that. Just because I feel like I need to hear that again. Yup, it's just that important!
Let me end with some words from the founder of AMTC and my dear friend/sister in Christ and devoted reader of this blog, miss Carey Lewis.
Thank you girl for your always encouraging words to me!
She says, "no matter if men agree with you, you must forgive, forgive and forgive. If not, you're stuck playing the victim. But you are destined for greater roles.-" -Carey Lewis
Mark 11:25
And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Matthew 6:15
But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 18:21-22
Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses
