We Can't Control That... But We Can Control That!

There are times when I may find myself in a bad situation. And, I find that most times I don't really have a nice response back. Do you guys ever find yourselves in situations like this? Do you guys understand what I mean? Let me try to elaborate.

Let me mention 1st a Deep Thought that I once had. Literally. I do remember thinking and praying to God this. " I don't understand God! Why would you put me in a situation where you know so-and-so would get so mad at me?

Or, why would you put me in a situation where you know I will end up exploding because I would be getting so mad! I may end up using coarse or vulgar language! I may even mentally or maybe even physically end up hurting someone! Come on God why would you instigate a situation like that? I don't understand God!

Seriously, in the past and maybe even sometimes now in the present.I would find myself thinking those thoughts. And, I don't think I'm the only one. Am I?

Would someone be brave enough to let me know that I am not alone in this way of thinking? If not, that's OK. Just pray for me!

Anyway, I do also remember my Pastor giving me some good advice. I'm also going to share with you guys. Perhaps, It will be helpful to you guys!

That is this. No, we all may not be able to control the situations the Lord is allowing to happen in our lives. However, we do have total control over how our actions will be when we are in certain situations.
Makes total sense right?

For instance, if you are in a situation where you really just are so mad? You really want to swear, yell, mentally or maybe physically hurt someone! Honey, you are in control of your own actions Do the right thing! (  Isn't that I planta of a movie from the eighties?) Anyway.

So, If you think that your behavior will only trigger madness from the other person? Then, I think you know what you should or shouldn't do to make the situation escalate into just more craziness or lunacy! You get what I'm saying?

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

1 Peter 2:

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
