One big humongous turtle for all humankind is this. The return of Jesus Christ! Gotta be ready! He's going to come back like a thief in the night!
Oh, before I start my reading there are times and like to mention this. And that is, if I gave you a card and you come by again and you see me, please come and say hi! I do have problems with my eyes so if you do see me from afar and wave or something, I probably didn't see you. So, please come right up by my table. Okay just wanted to say that. It was just my deep thought. :-)
Okay, one time I heard this interesting story. Basically, somebody was going to their recently deceased friend's funeral. He was part of the people who were going to carry the coffin, and he was sitting in the hearse on the way to the funeral home. He noticed he forgot his phone. He tapped the driver on the shoulder and that totally startled the driver. He started driving all crazy in order to avoid an accident.
Once, the driver came to a stop light, the gentleman asked the driver, "what the heck was that about?" The driver apologized for his reckless driving. He told the gentleman that usually doesn't happen. Usually, when he drives the hearse it's just him and a dead body. The gentleman being in the car was a rare occasion.
Aside from dead bodies and driving hearses, I want to ask you something. Have you guys ever been startled? I'm thinking the answer is yes? Maybe you were just startled earlier. Or, maybe a startle is coming in your near future. And, it maybe physical or mental.
In any case, a startle is a startle. Physical or mental that doesn't matter. It could be a good surprise/startle. Or, it could be bad.
If you're around my age maybe you can relate to the fact that my parents are getting older. I think they're getting older but they certainly don't look older. I also think my whole family and my husband's family, Filipinos in general have awesome genes!
I know I have said many times that I am a disabled woman, living with multiple sclerosis. Ew even just saying the name makes me cringe. :X Anyway, one day I was with my parents at my condo. And, if I needed help with something they were there to give it. And, I may not act like it sometimes but I definitely do appreciate it!
I'm going through stuff right now and my dad was really worried about me losing my caregiver service. I'm not even worried about that but he is. My guess is because of what he said. He said Sam, we are getting old. He was basically expressing the fact that because of his growing age they will not be able to continue to help me out. Hence, the reason he is worried I would lose my caregiving service. Again, I'm not too worried about that so, I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing. I know the Lord will guide my steps!
Let me end my writing for the day with some words from Pastor Greg.
"Jesus gives us a life worth living. Medical science seeks to add years to your life, but Christ will add life to your years." GL
When startled don't be alarmed because
Philippians 4: 13 which says I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. :-)
