To you readers
who have answered yes to any of the above questions?" I think I know why that is. Who has been keeping up with this apology series? You guys probably know as well. If we are all thinking this." Well, duh, Sam, because of differences in apology language! Then, you got it right on!
And, today I'm going to talk about another apology language. The third apology language. It is making restitution. What does that mean? Let me elaborate.
I will utilize my friend, Example A. You all remember. I refer to her as Exa for short. Exa's loved one hurt her really bad. So sad, I know.
When she saw her loved one, they kept apologizing and saying they were sorry. They were oh so trying to hug Exa. And, when they gave her the diamond necklace box? She threw it across the room.
Exa ran away crying! The loved one was confused thinking, what happened? Is that what you're thinking too? Well, 1st of all "gifts" was not part of Exa's love language. As far as the apology style given to her? That was a fail as well.
Exa was was hurt really bad. Apparently, her loved one did not know her love language. I think her loved one not even knowing her love language is really hurt her. Or, what if they did know? And, they just were not using her love or apology languages? Ouch! That would be quite a bitter sting! Right?
Of course, it was nice for her to hear the person who hurt her say they were really sorry.
However, her apology language is about making restitution. If there is no mention of that in the apology, she would not exactly be thinking about forgiving the person that hurt her.
All Exa cared about was how her loved one was gonna make things right. To reiterate,, please don't get me wrong because it is still nice for Exa to hear "sorry." I think those words by itself will not be a true, sincere, or heart felt apology Exa is waiting for.
The loved one really should try to focus more on this. Make sure to stress on how you are going to make things right. Hence, making restitution. :)
Luke 19:8-10 NIV
But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
