Even If?

Happy Monday morning to all of my Deep Thoughts readers. Hope you all had a beautiful weekend! Before I start my writing for the day let me tell you what happened yesterday. I actually have to give a shout out to two people named Jessica and Chris. I was at Panera Bread yesterday on the Southside after church waiting for my husband who had a meeting with a friend. I was enjoying my grilled cheese sandwich. I actually think that was the best grilled cheese I've ever had in my entire life. LOL and probably the most expensive. Anyway, as I was saying, I was enjoying my grilled cheese sandwich and my creamy tomato basil soup. All of the sudden I was on my last couple bites of my sandwich and I dropped my bread. My crazy and uncontrollable fingers actually made the sandwich fly one table over smack down on the floor.

I thought for a second should I just leave it? No it was really good though! So, there was this lady sitting right next to my sandwich that was just sadly on the floor. And, of course I say excuse me, can you please get my bread right there that fell on the floor? I've no idea but probably thought I was crazy to even still want that little piece of bread. But, like I said that was the best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had in my entire life! Her name was Jessica. Hi Jessica and thank you again for getting my bread. :-)

Oh yeah, and Hi to her friend Chris as well! The knock to my head (Holy Spirit telling me to offer a business card with thoughts of my writings of the words of God) came straight to my head. Good thing I had some in my pouch. So, hope that my writings will bring you encouragement!

The writing for today, I gave the title, "Even If."  I know right? Isn't it kind of vague? Even if what? That could be a lot of things. I know. But for this writing I mean to say even if we have a little doubt when it comes to God.

Check this out, I am just going to throw out a guess because it's not like I, personally know the majority of all of my readers. Right so aside from those I personally know, let me ask a question. And this goes out to people who don't usually believe in God. For you people. Okay, so you usually don't believe in God but for some reason you may say something like, "Help me God!" Wait a minute! Wait a MINUTE! I thought you don't believe in God? I thought you were doubting the love of God and the working of God? Yet, you are asking for help from someone you have doubts over? Sound familiar?

Let me share with you guys some tidbits of a story in the Bible. It's about one of the Apostles. It was about the beloved Apostle Peter.  He was on a boat that was on the water. And, suddenly he saw a man walking on the water. Peter was scared and thought that it was a ghost. The man said it is I Jesus. Peter said if it is really you then asked me to go on the water. And Jesus told him to do that. So, Peter started walking on the water but then he turned around and saw the wind and then he began to sink. Right away Peter said Save Me Lord! And right away I'm thinking Jesus was sad because he said Peter had such little faith. Jesus held out his hand and saved him from falling in the water.

Wow, see that makes me think how truly awesome and really forgiving Jesus is. Even if we begin to doubt, he still will hear our cry for help and will pull us out of the water and save us from sinking deeper and deeper into our own problems.

Don't you want that? Do you already have that? I'm thinking we should all want that!!!

Matthew 14:22-33 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Walks on the Water

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking online n the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said,“why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
