Genesis Series Part 11: Justice and Mercy

When I think of these two words, here's what I think. First of all, I'm thinking of the movie Justice League. Remember all the superheroes killed the bad guys and because of that, there was Justice. I don't know I feel kind of iffy though if it was in real life cause murder is a sin. You know what I mean? I mean wouldn't it be okay if they're killing bad guys? LOL, just something to think about at another time.

The word Justice makes me think about the courts and like a judge. When I think of the word mercy, I think of loving parents or loving friends. Basically, someone who is loving :-). Loving to the point of being very forgiving. You guys got the gist, I hope.

Okay, when I do something bad I hope the other person that was affected by my wrongdoing would be forgiving and would offer me mercy. If it's a murderer (her or him or me or you). I could be anyone. Those people should pay for their crime and possibly do some time. Paying for their crime and serving some much-deserved time probably in the slammer shows justice.

Check it out. Because of what Jesus did, the whole thing on the cross for our sins and stuff, that part. Well, because of that, we people living on Earth who personally know Jesus as their personal savior are offered forgiveness and mercy.

God totally has Justice in the works as well. Basically, if one doesn't choose to believe in our beautiful Heavenly Father and refuses to enter into a relationship with Jesus, then the justice is that they will go to hell for eternity.

Ooh, that kind of gave me the chills. And it's not because it's 9 degrees outside and Starbucks' soaking in the cold air because people open the door to get their coffee. Nope, God told me to wear a hoody over my big sweater before I left the house this morning. I'm actually very comfortable. I get my hot water for my hands my feet I'm questioning and if it's my problem I need my blow dryer.

Before I end my writing, I would like to give a shout out to Tamika. My caregiver gave her a card yesterday at the corner store.  I hope you will be encouraged by my writing!

Proverbs 21:15 ESV

When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.

Romans 12:19 ESV

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

TBC....

James 2:13 ESV

For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Luke 6:36 ESV

Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
