I know lol of another person. I'm not going to share the name. However, this person is very much addicted to gambling. Chicago is not really the known location for à place of gambling like Las Vegas is. I mean there are some casinos in the Chicagoland area and I'm sure this person would gladly go to the casinos. I don't know. I guess God is not allowing this person to comfortably move to Vegas for some reason? He can do that. If he doesn't want anything to happen then nothing will happen and vice versa.
Now, let me end with another thing. Let me give an example of someone being addicted to pornography. I don't know I cannot think of anyone off-hand or have heard of anyone. No wait. Perhaps when I flip through the TV channels and pass one of those raunchy talk shows or something, someone is talking about pornography addiction. I think.
With any type of addiction, what do you think someone suffering from that should do? I mean in order to not get the temptation? Duh! They should not be anywhere around it! Would not one think they would only get tempted they are surrounded by whatever it is that may be tempting them to do something wrong?
I know this may sound cliche. But we really do need to do this. And, that is just saying no! Is that hard for you? You're not alone I know of people who really have a hard time saying no. Personally for me I'm getting better but it takes time it has a lot to do with my spiritual growth is a Christian.
I think if saying no is really a problem for someone, then they should do this. Accountability. I mean one should bring an accountability companion with them. If your friends are inviting you to go to the bars, you have someone with you to remind you that you told yourself you would drink responsibly, or maybe you wouldn't drink it all?
As far as the pornography here's a nice idea. If it is not around you, you then? How would you get tempted? So, you know what? If one steps into seeing what you shouldn't be seeing then the crime is all on you baby! Yep you have got to discipline yourself! You can do it! If you are addicted to pornography, put some pop up blockers on your computer screen. Don't keep dirty magazines in your house! Don't have dirty videos around! Put some parental blockings on the TV. Think that's what you call it. You know I mean. LOL.
I don't know. If you like to gamble a lot and you know you shouldnt be doing that then? Maybe, if you find yourself going to the casino when you know you shouldn't be then I guess like any of the things I mentioned, perhaps punishing yourself in a way you can think of would work!
Friends, yes the Lord is for everyone. That's a given. However Just because he's with everyone, doesn't mean he will stop everyone from facing temptation. I'm thinking of the story of Joseph and Potiphar's wife. Basically, the wife of Potiphar really wantedJoseph to sleep with her. Joseph has balls and morals. Joseph respected P,otiphar. So, when she threw herself at Joseph and said come to bed with me. I don't know but I'm sure Joseph had a little bit of Temptation. The story goes on saying that Joseph ran away from the lady, because he wasn't going to be caught up. Well the story ends up to be pretty interesting. Folks, if there's a temptation going on in your life that you know you shouldn't be doing the.... Aske the Lord to help you! Ask the Lord to put in your mind some ways you can flee from The Temptation.
