I think there are some people out there who don't want to carry responsibility over someone else, or the other way around. I mean, or they wouldn't want someone to have responsibility over them. It really just depends I guess right? Sometimes people really do not have a choice in the matter. if they want to survive or don't they? What if the person is disabled and truly needs that caretaker? What if the person is something of a feminist or a male version of the kind? "What if" can go on and on.......
I belong to people and people belong to me. I am a daughter to my parents, so they belong to me and I to them. I also am a.wife. So, since I am no longer my parents sole responsibility, I now belong to my husband and he belongs to me. "that is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Genesis 2:24 NIV)
I am guessing we never really put much thought into who we belong to or vice versa. Correct? I know I belong to Jesus because I am his daughter. " Children, you belong to God, and you have defeated these enemies. God's Spirit is in you and is more powerful than the one that is in the world. "( 1 John 4: 4 CEV UK00)
So, what that verse is saying is that if we belong to Jesus, we know we have defeated the enemy come the very last days. We should really rejoice because if God is in us, He is greater than he that is in the world! Soooo cool!!!
I guess, whether belonging or not, true believers need to just treat people like Jesus would treat them. Believe me, I know that loving one another the way Jesus loves us at all times gets pretty difficult . That is why we need to ask for his help all the time! I know I do..... And, although I don't get an immediate response still it helps a little..
