Popular Saying

Play for the Audio Version

Have you guys ever heard the saying, " When it rains it pours!" What that is referring to is when something life changing usually negative happens, something else life-changing usually negative happens without much or even ever a delay. That has probably happened to you. I am pretty sure it's happened
to me before. Don't need to tell me. I totally agree that it sucks!

Oh I get why the metaphor! When it rains they're usually just raindrop after raindrop. Not really a rapid pouring effect. When it pours it is rapid and may even leave you feeling suffocated or stuck in a trap!

I have the perfect example! Well, it's a very sad example sad, however quite real. You guys  remember this story my caregiver mentioned about what happened with Gladys cousin and twins, remember? The sudden death because of a drunk driver? Well, listen to and imagine this.

That whole twins incident happened in November. 1 month before, her parents were hit with the news that Glady's favorite sister, who was
only 39 years old was diagnosed with cancer and has about 6 months left to live.

So, because of the whole other horrible incident, the parents had 2 delay telling Glady
about her sister. They finally decided to tell Glady of the other horrible news, just last month. It was actually Glady's second week working for me.
That was why she decided to go to Florida suddenly. She wanted to spend time with her sister. She did mention that while she was there her sister did have an incident where she stopped breathing while in the hospice care.  That left everyone thinking she was going to die soon

Ain't that the truth? When we know someone we love is going to die soon, we want to spend as much time with them as we can. How ever much time you spend with them will not seem to be enough probably. That's the thing though. We can't stop the inevitable. We just have to work with what we are given.

What comes to mind is the story about Peter calling all of Jesus's apostles to the early church. They were being persecuted and could really use the love of their other brothers and sisters in Christ!

I don't think her sister told her I really need your love right now, can you come to Florida? Glady just knew and was given the opportunity so she took it!

Fellow Christian believers, oh we know that God has poured his love in our hearts.
It makes total sense, that we would want to emulate our Lord
and pour our own love in other people's hearts who need to feel loved.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

1 Peter 4:8

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since lov deree covers a multitude of sins.

Ephesians 4:2

with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

Romans 5:8

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.1
