His blonde tips on a weird looking style of hair did catch my attention. I think his hair at the time somewhat put a negative shadow over how handsome he really was. He had a great personality that immediately brought an attraction to him. I am talking about my now husband, Joseph Verdaguer. I am sure there were not characteristics or features on my end that lessened his attraction to me as well. I'll tell you guys it took a bit of time for me personally to trust a guy again, but thank God for opening my eyes and trusting again! Funny, how God works right?
Now, almost 15 years later after the first day of noticing the blonde tips and purple eyes, Joe and I laugh about how weird we looked and are now happily married. And most likely like other married couples, we have our fights, sometimes immediately we reconcile, sometimes it takes time. Sometimes the disagreements get pretty heavy and involve your typical shouting and swearing. But, you know what since we are both children of God, we know and trust our partners hearts and we know marriage is so difficult but it's also about apologizing and forgiving your husband or wife.
We believe God put us together for reasons we don't understand. Sometimes, it's so hard to grasp that fact, seriously. But, God did say in His word, one day we will leave our parents and be one with our husband or wife. Joe and I truly believe that the woman needs love and the husband needs respect. Oh, how minimal married couples' fights would be if husbands always had respect and wives always had love. Right? However, that's not possible folks, so I suggest brushing up on saying you're sorry and forgiving. Isn't God's design for marriage pretty beautiful? I say we should pray that all married couples would marvel and just really take notice of how awesome it is to be married to your spouse that God created just for you!
