My husband got the best watch a few years ago as a Christmas present. It was really pricey, I mean really. Like, the kind of watch retired and very wealthy basketball players wear. Joe loved this watch so much. It was a watch that would grab other people's attention immediately. He wore it everywhere, everday, everyplace.... You guys get my drift. One morning, Joe was really sad and said, "My watch doesn't work anymore." I felt really sad for him. And, I told him that while he will be at work I will search for ways to try to rejuvenate that watch, by maybe calling watch repair places or something. Who knows there may be a way to make it work agan. Or, Joe may end up giving a forever goodbye to his beloved Samsung Galaxy Gear watch.
My thoughts immediately went to thinking how temporary things are right? Now it's a watch, later it's a life. See, things may be going really well, but that time is temporary. I know it's not fun or nice to think about but, it's reality. I think people really need to stop and think about what they want to happen when their time is up. Over the years of writing this blog, I think you all are pretty intelligent human beings and can gather my thoughts of this subject. Just like Joe's watch gave him temporary satisfaction, so will your life. Where you will spend eternity is all up to you.
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:11-12 NIV)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV)
