Well, the title of this writing could mean a lot of things that God doesn't like. Right? However I'm going to talk about one specific thing today. I'm going to pray before I begin to write because I'm sensing controversy, perhaps being offending to people, or any of their negativity because that's what Satan wants. However, I'm all about writing about what God wants. What God likes and what God doesn't like are all in the Bible. Maybe you didn't know that. That's why God is putting it in my mind right now because he knows and wants people to know what he doesn't like. Let's Dive In!
We all know that God loves prayer! He loves it when we pray and ask him for help. He loves it when we pray and ask him to change or not change a specific thing according to his will! He appreciates when we pray to be strong and he appreciates it when you pray for the weak! He absolutely loves it when we pray with words of adoration and praise and glory to him! I think he just really appreciates and loves that we have faith in him that he will do or not do whatever we are wanting and asking him for! And, I'm pretty sure he loves and appreciates that whatever he decides is what's best!
Okay, I talked about what he loves about prayer. Now let me talk about what he doesn't like about prayer according to what he says in his words! I don't think he likes it when we pray but have doubts. He says in his word about his thoughts of praying with such an eloquent tongue but nothing in the heart. I know that he does not like it when we pray for something he already completed because that was his will. Yet, we are trying to pray that his will may change because that's what we as humans want.
If you don't know what I'm talking about in the last paragraph, let me explain and get your minds thinking. I'm talking about praying for the dead.
See, when somebody dies that was because that was God's will. There is nothing you can do here on Earth to stop you or them from dying. You could be really healthy, maybe you work out like everyday, maybe you eat the right foods. You're going to die no matter how healthy you seem to be. Don't get me wrong, staying healthy and being healthy would help but the final outcome is up to God. And, once the thing is done AKA they're gone, are long gone, and are dead, they decided whether they would spend their eternity in heaven with Jesus or otherwise when they were living on the earth.
People need to understand that there is no use when it comes to praying for the dead. I mean praying for the souls of the dead. That person who died made their decision of whether or not to follow Christ when they were alive. God gives us free will so we have a choice of what we want to do.
He doesn't like it when we pray for the dead because it really just says to God something like,"Even though this person died and didn't even really have a relationship with you and was not a born again Christian believer, that's okay, because I'm going to pray that this person will go to heaven!"
Really? Now the question is who exactly are you praying to? If you think about it, it's not God or Jesus because they don't want you to do that so why would they listen? It's evilness. I'll say it again God gave everybody free will. That means they were given the choice to become a born-again Christian believer and have a relationship with God. There is no one on earth that can change that person's heart to believe or to not believe. Certainly, that is not your choice to make for the other person. Back to praying for the dead. It is so just a waste of time for us and maybe not really God's because he's not even listening. However, mostly our waste of time, if you are one that prays for the dead that is.
I do want to say that children who can't decide for themselves are an exception to the rule when it comes to going to heaven. They are totally loved by God and automatically go to heaven. So really, you don't have to pray for them either! I also want to say that it may not be too late for you or someone you know who is still alive. You can pray for THEM! God will listen to THOSE prayers. Do it now before it's too late! You never know what will happen tomorrow!
Okay. I think I'm going to end my writing now. I'll let but the Bible verses do the rest of the talking of why I even formulated these thoughts. I pray that these Bible verses will speak to your hearts as well. Have a blessed Sunday!
Hebrews 9:27 ESV
And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,
Luke 16:26 ESV
And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’
Isaiah 8:19 ESV
And when they say to you, “Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?
Numbers 23:19 ESV
God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
Also, read this passage about the Rich man and Lazarus, you can get a sneak peek of what happens when we die:
The Rich Man and Lazarus
This afternoon I was in conversation with my husband and you guys might be interested in his thoughts. Stay tuned and check back later I'll add those in.
Joe's Thoughts: On the rich man and Lazarus, Lazarus was basically unable to help the rich man from heaven because they weren't allowed. When the rich man asked Lazarus to warn his family, again, Lazarus was unable to help because there was an obvious separation between the living and the dead. From this parable, I was able to get three things:
1) Heaven and Hell cannot "touch" each other. Someone from heaven cannot do anything for anyone in hell and vice versa.
2) People who have died cannot go back to earth. That means, "ghosts" are not really "ghosts" of dead people but something else. Also, since they can't communicate to anyone on earth, then that is not possible with "mediums" either. So they are communicating with something else.
3) And, slightly less obvious, is that people cannot switch from heaven to hell and vice versa. That means, no one who has died and have gone to hell can get ever get to heaven, and vice versa. Whatever fate that person had when that person died (heaven or hell) cannot be changed. Especially not by someone who is alive on earth. That is not their choice. That is the choice of the person, while they were still alive.
