You Should Always Do This

I'm going to say something I know all of you may not agree with. And that's totally ok.

Oh wait, excuse me, pause break.  I just gave a card to this really nice gentleman, James, who was sitting at the table to the right of me. So nice meeting you James! I hope you will get really encouraged by my writings! Happy Thanksgiving again!

Okay let us dive into this! I'm going to write about something that is so appropriate because this is the day before Thanksgiving! I'm going to write about giving thanks.

I am NOT going to explain a whole method of saying the word "thank you."  As if there was even one. No. It is a simple thing.  Just give thanks to our Heavenly Father for everything. Simple right?

Well... Yes, I find it simple to say thank you to God when good things happen to myself or my loved ones. Now the difficulty comes in when something bad happens. Do we really feel like being thankful and saying thank you to God when something bad is happening, either to myself or the loved ones?

I know I don't think I would want to, at least not immediately. When I try to talk to some people about God, it's difficult especially when the first thing out of their mouths is why did God have to kill my loved ones?

First of all, God did not kill your loved one.  God did allow it. Check out what God does in the Bible. I'm thinking of the story of Job and his life. God allowed so many bad things to happen to Job, along with the allowing the deaths of his family members. Why do you guys think God allows that? Personally, I think he allowed that to strengthen his faith.

Job was so thankful for the good things and bad things that happened in his life. That trait of his is something we humans should do as well, but dang, it that's hard.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I am actually hosting a nice small dinner with my immediate family and Joe's immediate family. Remember I live in a small condo. I am blessed to be able to fit seven people, well eight if you include our little baby nephew. It's not a big party, but remember Thanksgiving is bout giving thanks and not worrying about if we have enough food or not worrying about is our place is big enough.

So, if any of you guys are in a little squabble or disagreement with another person, put that aside and just be thankful that person is in your life because God is doing something that will strengthen your faith.

Personally, there are some things, wait no there are a lot of things, that God allows that I don't agree with. But, just because I don't agree with him and his sometimes odd decisions, doesn't mean I should not be thankful for whatever he allows in my life. And you guys too should be thankful for what he allows in your own life. That's just a deep thought.

I was just about to end this writing but God struck my heart. I just gave this lady Ms. Lizy a card. It was nice meeting you and I hope you will be encouraged by my writings. Ok done.

Encouraging deep thought of the day:

Even if your sick you can still do stuff.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 ESV

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Psalm 107:1 ESV

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!

Ephesians 5:20 ESV

Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
