Friends, news flash, we are not superhuman. That means there is a pretty big chance we are not going to say what we really mean, we are not going to do what we actually say. We're going to mess up in some way, etc. That's just reality. So, yeah I get it. pinky swears may disconnect and not actually be true. Promises are very nice to hear but may not even be kept.
I'm thinking of the story in the Bible with the disciple, Peter. Peter told Jesus he would never deny him. Jesus knew what was up. Jesus knew that Peter was human and was going to deny him. When Peter was accused of knowing Jesus. He denied it. Jesus told him before the rooster crows twice he will have denied him three times. And what happened? Peter denied knowing him three times before the rooster crowed! After Peter realized what Jesus told him before actually became reality, Peter felt pretty bad.
People of this world, Jesus sees everybody and knows everyone's thoughts and what's in their hearts. Jesus knows what's in the future. Maybe, you don't like what you're doing right now. Maybe you don't like a specific person. Friends, Jesus knows.
I guess my reading for today is really just a reminder to us people. So, just be mindful that words you hear that may not actually be true may hurt you. And, all we can do next is just forgive. And if it's difficult for you to forgive, then pray. Pray for strength to forgive. Pray for mistakes not to be repeated. That's all we can do. That's all I believe the Lord wants us to do.
Encouraging thought of the day:
She said she would do this... He said he would never do that... Forgive and pray for
mistakes to not be repeated!
