Genesis Series Part 61: No, Sin Doesn't Deserve Grace

Happy Monday! Oh wow, I was really set on writing about something. Well, I thought I was like dead set on writing about something. However, God put some things in my mind. I guess He wanted me to write about a different topic. So, when I looked at my list of topics, I couldn't find that topic.  I actually was kind of reminded of this incident when I heard the sermon yesterday at church.

Pause break my caregiver said she gave my card to this lady on the bus named Aletha Johnson. And, I just gave my card to this nice lady who got my hot water. My hands are crazy cold. Her name was Lindsay. So thank you guys and I pray you guys will be encouraged by the writings! Let's continue.

Well as I was saying, I'm going to write about something that was not my first thought. I'm old but I'm not that old.  I'm Amazed by how God just makes me remember things that happened in my own life like when I was any age. These thoughts that I'm getting totally could go with my Genesis Series. Let's dive In.

Okay, I remember when I was still going to a community college. I was on my way to class. I was on 95th near the entrance to get on the highway to go on 294 north. I was driving myself in my car that my parents gave me when I was 16. It was a silver Honda Civic, with the license plate SWTMZ 511 which stands for Sweetums. And my birthday. That was my name on AOL. If you guys are 30s and above, remember that? LOL  Have I said I feel old? :)  So yeah, Sam in the car driving on her way to school.  This was way before Northern or UIC. I don't remember specifics.

Pause break. Well for me. I am just so amazed by God putting thoughts in my mind. Instances that happened to me years ago. I just remember. I think it's because he wants to help me out when I write this Genesis series. Thank you, God!

Anyway, it was switching lanes. When that happened, I hit the car in front of me. I have no excuses and just hit it by accident. I guess that was my second or third car accident. When I used to be a driver, I used to get in car accidents. Never really bad ones, well, when I was driving. However, this accident was probably the best accident out of all my accidents. Apparently, the most memorable.

So, first, we pulled over to the shoulder of the road. I don't remember the guy's name but I remember his face. So, I was scared. I didn't know what he was going to do or say. He got out of his car walked over to me asked if I had insurance and then he called the police. The police came and we all exchanged numbers. He asked for the necessary paperwork. Then a little later we said to each other we'll see each other in court.

I can't remember what my parents said about the whole thing. I'm guessing they were probably mad. Seriously, they probably were not surprised. II wasn' that good of a driver. I got into some car accidents. Just a few. Maybe more, I don't remember. Truthfully, I think the symptoms of my multiple sclerosis we're starting to develop. Starting with problems with my vision. :(

So, probably like a month later, my parents took me to court. "We meet again" that's what I was thinking the guy was thinking LOL. Of course, my thinking was alright.  I've got to plead guilty because I'm guilty and my insurance will have to pay for any damage that was done to the guy's car because of my mess up. Are they going to take my license away too? That last question goes to both the judge and my parents. LOL

When the judge asked me how I plead I was about to say I'm guilty your honor. But, I didn't get to do that because the guy that I hit said that he wants to drop all the charges. AKA I didn't have to pay anything. Can you believe that? He dropped the charges!

I didn't have to pay anything. I didn't have my insurance pay anything. Believe me, that is something that I was not expecting. I don't even think I see that kind of scenario in the movies much. You know what I mean? That was Grace!

You know who else I think about that would totally go with my writing today for my Genesis Series? How about God? That is his ultimate line of work. Showing people Grace! All we people have to do is ask for forgiveness when we sin.

I'm also thinking of how God showed Grace to Adam and Eve. They totally messed up against God. You know what though? I cannot recall if there was any mention of Adam and Eve saying they were sorry for eating the fruit. I mean it's not in the Bible. Maybe they did say it but it's not recorded in the Bible. So, we just don't know.

What we do know is that God showed them Grace. God made and provided more comfortable clothing for them. I mean when they realized they were naked they put fig leaves to cover themselves. But, I'm thinking God was probably really mad at them. However, he still helped them out.

Wow, the guy that I hit was probably really mad at me at the time. I guess God spoke to his heart and the guy helped me out. You know me, I'm so dramatic sometimes. Sam is a drama queen LOL Why do you think I'm an actress? For real though I hate drama in real life. In acting, "fake time" drama is fun!

Anyway, He dropped the charges. AKA that was Grace. Before, we left the courthouse. Of course, I gave him a hug! And parents are probably looking at me all crazy LOL.

You know who I'm picturing as the guy? My husband's old boss who passed away some years ago. He was my brother in Christ. I kid you not, Vic totally reminds me of that guy! Well, they're men probably in their 70s, tall with gray hair. LOL I don't know, maybe I'm totally off. LOL

TBC..........

2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Romans 6:14 ESV

For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
