A Genuine One

You know what, I don't want to forget but a couple days ago I had my Pace Paratransit driver take me and my caregiver home from Starbucks. And, she was given one of my cards. So, Kizzie, thanks for accepting my card and I pray that you will be encouraged by my writings!

This morning, as soon as I opened my mouth to say what the title will be for today's writing, immediately I thought something. And, that was this. What are you doing Sam? The reading for the day is going to be so controversial. Are you sure you want to do this Sam? And, to that I will give one word and that is "opinion." Make that two words "My" and  "Opinion." Hopefully, with that little reminder I won't be dissing anyone and stepping on anyone's toes. At least I don't intend to.

The question we really need to ask yourself is this. Are we a real genuine Christian? What do you guys say when people ask you what is your faith? I think a lot of times people don't really get into specifics and they just want to know what your religion is. And once they hear the answer that is when they're mine start running wild with truths, half-truths, or just lies about what we truly believe.

If you are a real, true, born again Christian, then that means you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ! See I didn't put anything about religion in there? As far as attending church, I don't see how if you are a real true born-again Christian you're not attending a church. Real Born Again Christians would want to be members not just regular attenders but members of a church that is Christ centered and bible-believing. 

The Lord wants his children to be meeting regularly with their brothers and sisters in Christ. He wants his children to be utilizing their gifts maybe it's pastoring, shepherding, exhortation, etcetera.

Real born again Christian believers would want to welcome to gain more knowledge of the word of God! There is just this phenomenon that is unexplainable. It's about the faith that no one else can do for you except for you. It is up to you if you wants to except the faith and embrace Christ as your lord and savior!

My thoughts are if one chooses not to attend church, then other people are missing out on you. Maybe you need to ask for prayer? Maybe they just need to see you smile? Maybe they just need a hug? Maybe you have words that you can share in your Bible class that will totally encourage them? See what I mean? It's not just about yourself but what about other people you can touch with your words of encouragement. Perhaps, it is about yourself and you need that person who the Lord told to encourage you! 

I see it that people get so encouraged by me and my husband. We drive all the way to church every Sunday from the north side to the south side. People always say at church they are so encouraged by my husband and I. Joe and I drive all the way South so we can go to church. I know that we can find another church closer to home. However, my husband just tells me he doesn't feel like that is what the Lord wants him to do. Not yet.

So, I will end this writing with what Joe said when I asked him to give his definition of a born again Christian believer. This is what he said. "Saved" Yep, we are saved from the fiery pits of hell! That's a pretty good way to sum it all up! Have a good day!
