Superstitious

Happy Tuesday! Before I start my writing for the day let me give some shoutouts from yesterday. First of all, I was at Starbucks later than usual yesterday because me and Joe had to meet the family to pick them up and let them rest at the condo and then out for pizza with the rest of the family!

This morning I met Will. He is a new Starbucks worker. Will, I pray you will be encouraged by the writings! Have a nice day!

So, I was still here at Starbucks and my caregiver left already but I needed some hot water. So I had asked this really nice lady Jenna! She was super nice and she also picked up my phone that I dropped on the floor. Oh wow excuse me, I keep yawning this morning!

Then I met this really nice man named Mark sitting in the tall tables next to me. I had spilled my water and I asked Mark for some napkins. So, he was so nice and got me napkins and he totally surprised me and started cleaning up my water spillage.  Thank you Mark for cleaning up my mess! :) I pray that you and Jenna will be encouraged by my writings! Let's Dive In!

Okay, last night when us cousins were out and we're having dinner at Lou Malnati's, an interesting topic of conversation sparked up. I imagine it to be very controversial. So, you guys can think what you think. And I need to respect that. And I can think what I think and you guys should do the same as far as respect. This is my blog so I'm going to share my opinion. So, don't get too mad at me if you don't like what you are about to read. :-)

Okay, the topic that came about was about superstitions. You guys may not know this but we Filipinos have a lot of superstitions. And not a surprise, but there are many Filipinos that truly honor them. They do them because they believe the "or else" will happen.

I actually Googled Filipino superstitions and came to a page that lists about 35 of them. Some of them I have heard of and seen before. Some of them I have not. I'm seriously in Starbucks and was reading them with like a surprised look on my face.  Ie even said, "What" out loud.  I shared the link so if you want to read it, then read it. I guess it was more of a read for humor purposes. I'm definitely not "Pro-superstitions."

Let me share my deep thoughts regarding this controversial issue. Okay, first of all, the words "sad" comes to mind. Seriously, do you guys think that following superstitions is from God?

I kind of get it when parents use those types of things just to get their kids to do stuff. You know what I mean? However I still don't think it is really something God wants us to use. If you want your kids to do stuff then pray about it or do something more Godly rather than playing with something not Godly.

I remember a story I heard about if you see the dwarves to keep them around you for protection. Doesn't that sound crazy? So the people actually did that. I don't know about you guys but if I was a little kid and I saw a dwarf, I would scream.  I would probably hit it and probably would leave ASAP. The superstition says to keep the dwarf around you for protection, Doesn't it smell like evil? Only God is your protector.

Folks, I'm offering my opinion.  If you guys are welcoming that kind of stuff in your life, then I think you're playing with the evil one. You are giving him a foothold. Do you need to do some cleaning up and not following superstitions? Only follow God!
