Lust

Do you guys know what lust means? I'm thinking you might know a little. This is how Bible Gateway defines lusting.
Lust
"A strong craving or desire, often of a sexual nature. Though used relatively infrequently (twenty-nine times) in Scripture, a common theme can be seen running through its occurrences. The word is never used in a positive context; rather, it is always seen in a negative light, relating primarily either to a strong desire for sexual immorality or idolatrous worship. In secular literature, the word indicates only a strong desire and can carry either good or bad connotations."
Cool, that gives us a pretty well thought-out and very good definition of the word lust. I don't know what is in your guys's thoughts, but what I can truly get from that is that "lust" is not a good thing. Kind of like dust not being a good thing or rust not being a good thing or something being a total bust not being a good thing. Sorry, I'm just being silly. There's no special overtone to that. :)

None of us can deny it. We all fall into lust at some point in our lives. I think the more well-known way people know  " lust" is because of the craving or sexual desires for the people you are not supposed to be lusting over is sexual sense. I guess lusting is okay in one way if you lust over your husband or if you are a husband you lost over your wife. But, I'm thinking other than that lusting is not good.

One can lust over wealth, fame, to be in power, to be accepted, probably many more things I just can't think of right now. Really people lust over nice perks that attempting to their sight.

I guess the question is how do we keep away from falling into lust. Well, just like any other sin we can commit, I do not have a magic potion to stop lusting. So all I can say is the same thing I've already stressed so much in this blog. And, that is call on Jesus Christ ask him to give you strength so you can stand strong in the Lord! Ask him to help you not fall into the act of lusting!

Lusting over someone or something first begins with your eyes. Then, if your eyes like what they see, who knows what you may do physically? But your mind would probably be thinking about thoughts you shouldn't be thinking about. Seriously, your thoughts will be severely ravaged. We would probably be thinking of different steps or scenarios to answer the question we are pondering in our mind, " HOW DO I GET THIS PERSON OR THIS THING? WHAT DO I DO? I WILL DO ANYTHING!"

What is coming to mind right now is probably one of the first times in the Bible we really see the act of lust. Maybe some of you guys remember David?

David really had feelings for Bathsheba. He found her a very beautiful woman that was pleasing to look at. His story was crazy. Starting with seeing Bathsheba taking a bath and leading all the way up to murder. Oh did I mention Bathsheba was married?

Lusting over someone or something is some serious stuff that can lead to something really bad. And, God doesn't like it. Neither should we even start to play with that bad stuff. You guys are smart people and you know what I'm getting at. I mean lusting over someone you have no business lusting over may lead to adultery or something worse. Lusting over some object whatever just might lead to something bad as well.

Friends, I will say it again and maybe it will be fully embedded in you' mind. Any way you guys use lust, it is not good. It will only end up bad.

Have a good hump day!
