Before I begin my writing this Monday morning, let me give a shout out to Eric. Eric opened my treat for this morning. Eric, I pray you will be encouraged by the writings! Have a great day!
Bummed again. Why didn't I write it down? Earlier this lady picked up my sponge for my compact powder on the floor. I thank you and pray that you will be encouraged by the writings! Hopefully, by the end of the writing, I'll remember the girl's name. Thank you and have a blessed day!
Hello to Silky and Trina. They are two lovely ladies I met at the Columbus Day Parade downtown. Also shout out to Max from Doctors without Borders.p I hope you are encouraged by my writings and have a great day!
And, lastly I want to give a shout out to two lovely ladies. First of all to Mrs. Joyce Miller.
Thank you to you and pastor 4 doing our house blessing, and eating yummy burgers. I also want to say hello to Lauren. Lauren was our waitress at Kuma's. They are I think the best burgers in Chicago. Try it!
I didn't listen and because of that, something happened that has never happened to me before. But I know now why it did. It was because I didn't listen. Crap, I didn't say it again. I didn't write down the name of the girl I gave the card to this morning. Let's see if the Lord will let me remember her name as I do my reading.
Okay, what is Sam talking about this morning? What happened to me this morning totally goes with the devotion I read. What I'm talking about is that I didn't listen to God speaking to my heart.
Fellow Christians, does that happen to you? I didn't listen when God was speaking to my heart. I did not listen so I had to pay the consequences. I know right? Poor me! No, I'm not going to act like Eeyore. I deserve probably worse because I didn't listen. God is just so awesome, he offered me grace and fortunately whatever happened wasn't worse. Because it definitely could have been.
Okay, enough of that. Let me share some ways I believe that God speaks to us. Well, first of all, I believe God speaks to us through people. Here's how God spoke to me this morning. These are words from famous Pastor Greg Laurie.
"of God, you will hear the voice of God. Sometimes God will speak through a pastor. Sometimes God will speak through a friend. Often God speaks through your spouse. Sometimes God will speak through circumstances. Sometimes God will speak in the stillness of your heart. God rarely speaks audibly, so don’t be listening for voices. But He does speak often." (GL)Well, for me and maybe for you guys too. I don't know. But, sometimes when God speaks to me, and he wants me to do something that is totally out of my comfort zone. When that happens do you think I say oh well forget that then. No, that is when I totally ask for the help of God. I won't really go into specifics. Sorry, this is getting personal.
But what I will say is God is with you. If you are a child of God, you will know when he is speaking to you. I really can't explain it. You would just know. Fellow Christians, when God is speaking to you, are you listening?
Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
John 10:27-28
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand
