Evan, this man I met at Starbucks totally encouraged me today. After he saw my card, he mentioned that he had a brother with multiple sclerosis. He said it was good to see me out and about even with multiple sclerosis! Evan shared with me that his brother passed away from this horrible disease at the young age of 8. I have never heard of that before. Was this person born with it? He did not know. I chose not to bombard Evan with questions regarding this because it was a sore subject for him, I imagine. Evan, thank you for getting me hot water for my cold hands and accepting my card. I pray you will be encouraged by the writings and other stuff on the blog. Thank you for encouraging me by saying it was nice to see me out and about with MS.
Pause break! Let me give a shoutout to HUD. Is that not the coolest name? Love meeting new people and giving shout-outs to cool names! Okay seriously I have
To start my reading. We are leaving for Windy City Live at 11.
Getting kind of excited to see Snoop Dogg.
I want to shout out my fellow audience members Rose, Dee, Frances, and Toni. It was great meeting you all. I hope you are encouraged by my writings!
I remember when I was really little my dad was trying to
teach me how to swim. I now appreciate that he did that. Sorry Dad for kicking and screaming to get out of the water. I was scared. Note to self and others if you're scared of the water you're not going to learn how to swim ever. Probably not. And I do appreciate my dad for those things. And I get it certain people aren't meant to do certain things. Like Sam is not meant to swim.
Just a few years ago, my fellow
Multiple sclerosis friend Therese also tried to teach me how to swim. Unfortunately, multiple sclerosis has progressed common breathing muscles are pretty weak. In, breathing right when swimming is it important. So I guess Im not meant to swim.
Those two scenarios kind of remind me of trusting in God.
When my dad said he would not let me drown. Even Therese, I had to trust her when she said she would not let anything happen to me. She would let me hold on to her and she swim backward I need to have just so I can get some exercise for my legs in the pool.
Let me end my writings with some words for my daily bread devotional.
Lord has promised that He will never leave us
Hebrews 13:5
As we rest in His care and promises, He helps us learn to trust in His faithfulness. He lifts us above our worries to discover new peace in him.
