Power Series Part 59: Power Of His Strength In My Weakness

When one is weak, I don't think we think more about God's power being perfected in our own weakness. This is not what we think about. At least not when were feeling weak.

I don't know about you guys but when I am weak, yeah I may be thinking about God. However, I don't think I would be focused on his benefit from my weakness. I'm pretty sure I would be more focused on praying, pleading, even begging for God to give me strength.

I feel sorry for those people who miss out on seeing his glory or feeling his power in our own weaknesses. It's a great feeling of his awesome power and sight of his glory in my own weakness.

Friends, think of an incident where you fall prey into the bitter act of weakness. I'm sorry. I know it's not really a good thought to have. Is it?

But, I'm thinking it really is the best way to understand fully of what I'm talking about. See, I'm staying away from calling others out or even myself out. I'm keeping the weaknesses hidden and not fully elaborating on them.

Now, take that weakness and give it to God. Why? Well, because he says to. 1 Peter 5:7 says cast all of your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Not just the little baby ones, but all of them! I am currently remembering an old song by a not too famous boy group in the late nineties, Drop N Harmony (DnH). The lyrics went something like this- " Cast your burdens upon me those who are heavily laden. Come to me all of you who are tired of carrying heavy loads. For the yolk I will give you is easy, and the burden is light. Come to me, and I will give you rest.)

Friends, if you are weak, Call On Jesus.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9

8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
