Now, do I think that having no patience is a bad thing? Well, I wouldn't say it's a good thing. Let's see what God has to say about time according to his watch. Well, would you look at that? Patience is actually one of the fruits of the spirit. Along with peace, love, joy, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.
With God's help, it is possible to be patient. Wow, I said that with a cringed face. Because just because I say we have God's help doesn't mean l don't find it difficult to have patience. By the way, mad props to people who have the patience thing down. Seriously, that kind of stuff is so difficult. And, people who can be patient most times, deserve a round of applause. I have heard people like that do exist somewhere in the world. And, for that, I think they deserve a reward. All I know is I'm not one of them. I would say sometimes I am but that is only with God's help. A lot of God's help.
We are told we have to wait on God's timing. My friends, we need to realize that God has perfect timing. Oh I have the perfect example for you guys when it comes to God's timing and patience.
Joe and I dated for quite some time. In total it ended up to be a total of 9+ years before he popped the question I waited so patiently to hear. Let me tell you, friends, that right there is some patience. Why he waited so long? That's between him and God. My guess is it had to do with the thing about guys having a financial clock. You know how women have a biological clock. Anyway, that's beside the point.
What I want you guys to get from this is this. I may have wanted things to go sooner. I needed patience. God knew that my time didn't really match with his time. He had his reasons for wanting things to go when he wanted things to go. And, to reiterate his time was and always will be the perfect timing!
Folks, oh God knows if you need patience. Just ask him to give you some patience and maybe he will give it. I know he'll do something to help you through the waiting.
Psalm 27:14 ESV
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Proverbs 3 5 - 6
Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.
