I had to come back and give a shout out to my new friend Darin! He came to the condo to speak with me about all the changes we want to make regarding some home modification
Stuff that will keep me safe. AKA S-poles. Thanks for coming out! And pray you will be encouraged by the writings and enjoy the rest of your day!
Last night before I went to bed, a memory popped in my head. I guess the Lord was telling my heart what He wanted me to write about it the next day. Cool! Then, I went to bed and now I remember and I'm ready to do my reading for the day!
First of all, I would just like to give a shout out to my friend, Donna. She reminded me earlier because I really needed it, this. " God sees me and I'm dearly loved!" Thank you Donna! I really needed that reminder.
Time to dive into my reading for the day. I know I've mentioned before that I used to work for WBBM AM Newsradio. Remember, I was an assistant producer there for almost a year? Why I left my job?Stupidity! Childish hunger for full-time hours that would guarantee more pay and benefits. Just the regret I can add on to many others. I guess it's probably a regret I should totally forget. I guess God only wanted me to remember it right now for the writing. LOL.
What comes to mind is this. Well, working in a radio station the hours are crazy and I remember working a few days a week.
I clearly remember working one particular work day Monday from 3 a.m. to 10am. I know! I told you it's crazy hours. I remember I really needed a ride to work one time. And, it was early in the my dating relationship with Joe. And, this happened.
When I think about it now I'm sure, it was pretty high brownie points for Joe offering to give me a ride to work. So, he did that and I went to work. Then, was done by 10 am.
I remember walking to the train station and getting ready to take the red line to the 95th Street stop going home.
I know right!
Can you believe I had enough strength to walk and get on the train all the way to the 95th Street stop. Then wait for the 387 bus to take me to the bus stop near my parents house and then walk 5 blocks back to the parents house.
Back in the early 2000s that was a typical workday for Sam. I only worked 3 or 4 times a week.
Sounds okay right? No harm. No fail.
Well, did I also mention that the train I take-home is the red line going south passing many not so good neighborhoods?
If times now ate back when I was on the train? oh, wow.
Oh, I think I forgot to mention that on the way home this happened. When I was on the train on the way home I was hugging my backpack super tight. And, I couldn't help myself but I fell asleep. So, I slept the whole train ride home. Thank God I didn't miss my stop at home.
Friends, I would just like to say that God really protected me. That is it. I don't really have much more to say but God really protected me. God sees me. Of course there are times come on you know you understand wonder why doesn't God help me when he sees me. But I guess he has his reasons.
I'm just very blessed that at that time of 20+ years ago God chose to protect me.
Now I'm assuming that one very good reason of God protecting m is probably because of this. My past experience was going to be a great topic or subject for my deep thoughts blog. Let me ask you guys. Is my reading for the day ENCOURAGING?
1 John 5:18
We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.
John 16:33
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, ...
