Good morning and happy Sunday! We are continuing on with this Promise Seriis. Promise Series Part 17: Stick With It!
I'm guessing You guys may be thinking " now what is Sam going to be writing about today?" Let's dive in so I can tell you. Really, what came to my mind this morning was the Columbine incident back in April of 99. Those of you who never heard anyting about it, it was horrible. It was probably one of the first couple school shooting incidents that scarred the hearts of America!
If you guys are really interested and would like to know more about the story, I'm pretty sure you can find some stuff out on Google. Quite a sad time.
I remember I was 19 years old at the time and also a student. One can imagine how that tragedy registered that similarity with my own life at the time. I remember hearing a story about one of the students affected in the school shooting. Rachel Scott.
Rachael was killed instantly after refusing to deny believing in Jesus Christ. The shooters came to Rachel and shot her twice in the legs and once in the torso. Then they left but moments later came back lifted up her head and said, "Do you believe in God?" I'm sure That Rachel knew that her answer meant life or death. Or, who knows maybe these Godless men would have shot her no matter what the answer?! After Rachel spoke saying, " You know I do!" One of the shooters said, " then go be with him!" Then he shot her in the head. Wow, that memory takes me back. And to think, people probably wouldn't have thought then there would be many more school shooting incidents after Columbine
I would think there would be more storiies of students who lost their lives because they wouldn't deny God.
Folks, my writing for the day is Promise Series Part 17: Stick With It. I guess the very first question we should ask ourselves is this. Have you even started sticking with God? Next question is directed more to those who are sticking with God. And that question is this, " Are you so stuck on God, that if ever someone holds a gun to your head and asks you if you believe in God , what would you say? Oh, by the way if the answer would be no, the shooter would kill you. God promises Eternal life in Paradise with him if you Choose to follow him. God promises to give you forgiveness if you believe in him. If you believe in the son you will have life if you don't believe in Him!
1 John 5 11-12
And this Is the testimony God has given us eternal life and this life is in his son. He has the son has life. He and does not have the Son of God does not have life.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life
