DTFS Promise Series Part 39: Just Enough

Play for the Audio Version

1 I honestly don't know if this is  good. Perhaps, maybe for sanitary reasons it's not. I know Joe doesn't exactly like it when I do this. I'm talking about not being able to finish my food, so I end up wanting to save the rest of it for another time.

For example, I remember 1 time we were eating mini sized donuts. We both had the chocolate one, then the powdered one, then Joe had the whole "old fashion" one. However, I was full and was only able to eat half of it. So, that's what I did. After that happened, in my head I was thinking that Joe is going to just save the rest. But, I was wrong. That didn't happen. Nope, the garbage ended up eating the rest of it. Results? Sad Sam.

True. Joe said there were many more Donuts left for next time. Not true, there were more half sized ones in case, that was all I wanted to eat next time. Maybe, it was a good thing Joe threw it out, like I said for sanitary reasons.

PersonalIy, I doubt it. I think I would have been okay. So, stupid me opened up that can of worms and made it into an argument that I should have known I wasn't going to win.

What woke me up then was Joe saying this, " Why do you have to make this into an argument?"
To reiterate, that woke me up. Why was I wasting our time arguing about something so stupid? So, what I did was was just shut up and let him win. Yes, fellow wives, that is exactly what we have to do sometimes. If we want to save it from becoming an even bigger fire. We need to stop adding more wood to the fire! I believe the saying is don't make a mountain out of a molehill.
So to speak.

I know it is beyond difficult, believe me as a fellow wife, I know. However, sometimes we just need to swallow that hard pill, swallow our pride, and just let the hubby win!

Anyway, what comes to mind is Jesus. Going back to my donuts example, I mentioned earlier. Jesus knows exactly what we need and will provide exactly the perfect amount. Whatever he provides will always be just perfefct. Jesus will give just the right size that will make me feel satisfied and full! I won't need to worry about saving, because it will just be enough!

Philippians 4:19

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Romans 8:32

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
