How To?

Play for the Audio Version

This topic is once again for the born again Christian believers. They are a group of people that pray to God. If you are an unbeliever, then you probably do not pray to someone you do not believe in right?

What is coming to mind is this. The way we should pray. No, I am not talking about praying by using a certain style of verbiage. No, I am not talking about using bigger more intelligent sounding words when you pray. NO, it is not about being an eloquent speaker. Well, you can if you want to I mean.

If you have heard my blog before, then you have heard my prayers. I try to say a prayer after finishing each writing. I am not an eloquent, or an overall always intelligent sounding speaker. If you think otherwise? Thank you. But, nah. There are 3 things I want to say about prayer.

1st of all I think
when one prays? I think it should be coming straight from your heart. Fellow people who pray? Is it?

What do I mean by from the heart? I'm talking eyes closed ( to remove yourself from seeing any distractions), But just keep your mind focused on Jesus! Perhaps raising your hand up (showing that you are giving all praise to God!) Really any type of nonverbal action you do that shows you are praising God.)  Really it's even close to meditating.

The other thing I wanted to say about prayer is this. Make sure you are being specific in your prayers.

Let me give you an example. Let's pretend you don't want it to rain on your birthday. You have a picnic planned on your special day.

You pray and pray for no rain. Your birthday comes and guess what? It rained!

Maybe your prayer should be: Dear God please don't let it rain on my birthday this year, in a few days. God please don't let it rain all day! On my birthday. I repeat this year. In a couple of days. That is what I am talking about when I say be specific in your prayers.

Jesus is gonna do anything he wants. Meaning, for this person it might still rain on their birthday.  I mean I believe that God just wants to hear from us that we have faith that he can make it not rain.

So , when we pray to God to ask to make it not rain on the birthday. The 3rd thing I would like to say about prayer is this. According to God's will! According to the will of God! What are we doing?

We are letting God know that we have faith and we trust Him. We trust that He knows what is best for us. Let's recap my Deep Thoughts on prayer.

1. Pray from the heart

2. Raise hands.

3. According to God's Will ( Ball in His court)

Jeremiah 29:12

Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.

1 Timothy 2:8

I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;

Matthew 21:22

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

1 John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him
