Let's 1st define that. I am sure there may be 1 or more people that don't know what that means. I like how pastor Greg Laurie defines it
So, I am going to share that with you.
He says this. "Coveting doesn’t simply desire something that someone else has. Rather, coveting is when the desire for something that isn’t yours devours you."
That's a pretty deep way of describing coveting huh? Yep that is a deep and very true thought.

I am pretty sure that God does not like it when people covet. I would be lying if I will say that out of my 40+ years living on the Earth, I never coveted anything.
God hates coveting so much! He made it one of the 10 commandments. The bible says- “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s” (Exodus 20:17 NKJV)
Pastor Greg also mentioned this. I am sure that most people have seen the movie, Lord of the rings. Remember the character Gollum? He really really wanted that ring. Remember he kept trying to get it, " my precious." Now, The character of golem wanting that ring showed a good a good example of the act of coveting.
Deuteronomy 5:21
“‘And you shall not covet your neighbor's wife. And you shall not desire your neighbor's house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's
