Gossip Girl or Boy?

I confess that I am guilty of participating in the somewhat evil form of communication otherwise known as "gossip." Did you know The Lord has a thing or two to say in His word that pretty much warn us to stay away from gossip because of how much he hates it? Check these out.....

Stay away from gossips— they tell everything. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭20‬:‭19‬ CEVUK00)

Gossip is no good! It causes hard feelings and comes between friends. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭28‬ CEVUK00)

When you and someone else can't get along, don't gossip about it. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭25‬:‭9‬ CEVUK00)

A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭11‬:‭13‬ NIV)

See what I mean? And, those are only a few verses, yup there are  more verses that condemn gossip and speak more about how The Lord feels about it.   I guess we really should not do it.  I suggest you check out the verses I didn't include in this writing, if you have time,

I know well for me, sometimes I can't help it or I forget. Yeah, right like that's a good excuse right?  I will say, and ask my hubby who's known me for a long time now, that currently I really do try my best not to gossip.  And, if you know me, do you hear me gossip much?

I'll tell ya why earlier I used 'evil' to define gossip. How do you regard gossip? How do you define gossip?  Imagine if someone who had total confidence in you tells you a really deep and maybe dark secret and you broke that 'pinky swear' promise and told someone who told another person and the secret became widespread.  First of all, a friendship may have possibly been damaged, the credibility of the gossip spreader was now ruined.  Perhaps,  every time the gossip spread to another person, the genuine  meaning to the truth can definitely become skewed  now being false.

Here's another thought if you get into a fight with someone, I know sometimes it's great to tell someone to try and get them to feed your ego and confirm your correctness, but maybe we should refrain from saying anything until we resolve the argument or fight right? Why risk the situation becoming any worse?

Anyway, you see how much evil is going on? Satan Loves separation right? If God wants us to love one another. Wouldn't Satan want and desire the total opposite? I can only imagine the smile on the evil one's face when he sees the result of what gossip can do. Think about it and how much 'hell' pardon my language, would break loose!

See how hectic, and extremely dangerous gossip can get? My challenge to you is don't spread gossip! Only, truly believe something if it's coming out of the mouth from the parties involved . When you are in a fight with someone, don't talk about it behind their back. There definitely can still be a slight
chance of falsifying the truth. And, that's lying.  That is a different story right?
