Did You Know?

Did you know that our days are numbered? Yup, the bible says so. Our time on earth is brief; the number of our days is already decided by you. (‭Job‬ ‭14‬:‭5‬ CEVUK00).  Woah, God is pretty powerful huh? So, that means that God may take you or me out of this world at any time.  I'm not here to scare you or myself, but I just want to make you see that it's reality. You may be getting angry with me for writing this, but if you are ask yourself, why? "Sam didn't do anything harshly directed towards me....did she?"  Friends, of course I do not mean to write things to purposefully anger you or have a goal of making you angry.  If you think that stop thinking like that! First of all, remember these are my deep thoughts and for some reason you were led to read my thoughts. You ever think of that'? Why did you decide to read my entry today or other days? No one is forcing you right?

Last night, I was beyond shocked when I was aware of a multi car crash on 95th and Cicero in Oak Lawn.  3 people died and several injured,  I highly doubt those people who died knew yesterday was going to be their last day on Earth.  I really do not know the faiths of those deceased. But, wow isn't that a wake up call that we can go at any time.  But take heart, we can choose to be pleasantly welcomed by angels or not... The choice is on you.

I really didn't have a subject of what to write about in mind today.  So, as I do every morning I asked God to help me and this is where he led me. So, as I said our days are numbered. So, does that mean we should begin panicking and rushing to do all the wild and perhaps dangerous activities we told ourselves we would do before we die? Kind of like oh it is time to take out the "bucket list" to do some crossing off!  Um, yeah sure.....,NOT! Friend, yes, we are gonna go sometime whether we like it or not. Yes,  I do believe our days are numbered.  No, there is nothing we could do about that.  Sure, we basically will lose our lives. So, we will lose everything in our lives that we can't take with us when we die. Oh, pause for a second. I remember this question on the game " Family Feud. " It went something like: Name something you would include in your coffin and take with you when you die." Wow, unfortunately I had to think like a non-Christian for a moment for the sake of the game. The reality is you can't take anything with you when you die. So, we really should not put too much energy in trying to gain that which is temporary. Why not accept God and that which is eternal. If I live, it will be for Christ, and if I die, I will gain even more. (‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬ CEVUK00)

Please don't misunderstand what I am trying to point out. Of course, I don't want to die.  And, honestly before I came to know Christ as my personal savior, I was scared to die. I was scared because I knew I didn't have enough good deeds to compensate for all the bad deeds. I'll talk about
that in another entry. Now I just want to focus on how important it is to accept Christ who died for you and will give you a reason not to be scared of leaving this earth when our time is up.  Remember, our days are numbered........
