What are your thoughts after reading this verse? Many false prophets will come and fool a lot of people. (Matthew 24:11 CEVUK00. When I was first introduced to verses such as this throughout the bible, I was thinking of some people who were basically performing the impossible and at the time not even being cautious and inquisitive or questioning of how it was being done, One person that currently comes to mind is David Blaine. First, let me start off by saying that I have no idea what his religious beliefs are. But, I can say if someone is trying to perform miracles to prove humanly impossible things are happening all to bring himself glory and adoration, then I would begin to worry. We know all things are possible with God right? And, I think I had pointed out before that Satan basically stands for all that is the opposite of anything God right? To say David Blaine is getting his miraculous stunts from the evil one may be true. Only God knows. That is all I will say about that.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world1 John 4:1 (NASB)
Let me first say that before I became a Born Again Christian believer, never did I know of this verse therefore, I let my mind become amazed and bewildered by evil. I remember even trying to contact psychics in the past because I lost my beeper ( I was young and that was really dumb lol) Anyways, are you guys seeing where I am going with this? Well, first of all, now that I let my mind rewind and go backward to my past, wow I was pretty deceived. If you all are thinking " well I never toyed wit that kinda stuff." Well, good for you! I just am merely wanting to point out that the evil one is pretty smart and sneaky and even though you are not participating in the outward evil that upsets God, please be careful because the evil one is a liar and a deceiver. And, I can imagine his love for false prophets.
I guess what I really want to stress in this writing is to be aware of false prophets. They may be performing miraculous stunts that will just be so amazing to you. But, you know that power is not from God, then who is it from? False prophets are real and they want to steal the glory that belongs to God and he is trying to convince all of his false truths. If you think about it, see once you belong to God you are saved and are guaranteed eternal life with Christ right? Well, the evil one can't get you anymore so he will continually try to fool and get the unbelievers to be farther and farther away from grasping the truth of Christ. I truly believe he also will do all he can to stunt the believers growth in Christ as well. I became a believer at 15, but Satan was and still is bothering me and messing with my life. by, presenting his various evil ways and there have been times he stole my attention. Thank God, I am saved and I have the whole armor of God to protect me from the evil one and his tactics. And, praiseThe Lord I am forgiven when I do mess up because I do mess up, sometimes a lot....
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Dear friends, don't believe everyone who claims to have the Spirit of God. Test them all to find out if they really do come from God. Many false prophets have already gone out into the world, and you can know which ones come from God. His Spirit says that Jesus Christ had a truly human body. But when someone doesn't say this about Jesus, you know that person has a spirit that doesn't come from God and is the enemy of Christ. You knew that this enemy was coming into the world and now is already here. (1 John 4:1-3 CEVUK00)
