I bet you guys never really thought of why you go to church? If you choose to even go that is? Well, for me before I came to have a personal relationship with Christ, I think going to church was something I had to do or else. Or else, my parents would be very mad or else I would go to hell. Isn't that the thought of most people? Myself included (well not anymore)
I used to blindly focus on how going to church would be a benefit to me. I know it made me feel good to get my time spent with God. Even if Sunday mornings was all it took. Well I've later discovered that to not be the motivating factor of why I should go to church. According to what God says in His word for all the true believers, let me explain what I mean.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV)
Ok, first of all the verse is a clear command from God that He wants his children to have fellowship with one another. He wants them to build each other up and encourage one another. I definitely think he is saying too that he wants us to stay away from irreconcilable differences, and to be loving to each other with good deeds. I also think He doesn't want us to stop the fellowship with one another. I know I fail to stop that sometimes.
We ( the church members or congregation) each have a part that was given to us by God in order to make church complete for the benefit of all. Let me elaborate more utilizing my church service. It begins with the worship team and those who desire to use their melodic and beautiful voices or we have amazing pianists, guitarists, and drummers that make the service joyful! That portion of the service gets our heart ready for God sometimes. Well, it does for me. After the musical times, comes preaching. Some people were born to use their voices, some were set to preach, some were blessed to give, some to be prayer warriors, etc etc.... See, what I mean about being a part of the services! It amazes me, how blessed and talented some individuals are and when it's utilized for his glory...that's just icing on the cake!
