Is One Really Happy?

Ask yourself that right now. You may say my family makes me happy. My friends make me happy. My 6 figure salary makes me happy.  The way I look makes me happy. .......makes me happy. I could go on and on and on. Let me first say that having any of the things I mentioned above are certainly excellent and legit reasons to feel happy. So, I am certainly not downplaying any cause that makes people happy. If someone has any of those things, then wow what a blessing from God! And, good for you!

It's just that before I came to know Christ as my personal savior, it dawned on me. I am one pretty happy lady, well I thought I was because I was blessed with XYZ. I had my share of upsets in this world as well.

However,  I actually did not have many complaints.  Friends, then what later came to my attention was something that I know most people don't even like to ever really think about. All those blessings I had and have were or are temporary.  The most important blessing to me was how The Lord blessed me with life.   Our lives are temporary and we all could be gone from this world in the blink of an eye for various reasons.

There actually have been plenty of times, I saw a person and silently wished I could trade bodies with a much more healthier one.  But, then I get the famous knock to my head by you know who.  I remember that even though the body that I'm renting for a time experiences pain and sickness and all that may negatively affect my body; it's all temporary!

It is really quite shocking to me when suddenly I hear on the news of the latest suicide committed by the celebrity we all thought was happy and having all that money can buy and then some. Sometimes, we really don't know the reality of people's lack of true happiness. And, the consequence that may result is frightening and disastrous.

If you really don't know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, unfortunately this is a very real quote said by the famous, Vincent Van Gogh " The sadness will last forever.

Now, don't  you wanna be really happy for like ever?! Friend, you must decide to follow Jesus! That doesn't mean that you will be exempt and will no longer have to experience the heartaches and pains of this world.  But, it does mean that for those who have decided to follow Jesus, that once they do leave this world, it's a future with no pain ever!!!!!!! Don't you want that? Amen!

~We never give up. Our bodies are gradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day. These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing. Things that are seen don't last for ever, but things that are not seen are eternal. That's why we keep our minds on the things that cannot be seen. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭16-18‬ CEVUK00)
