Ok, let me set this out on the table first. We know God is perfect. We know God never sinned but loves all sinners. I think one thing about God the son that really accentuates his humanity was that when He was a human, just like any human, he died and Jesus felt pain and was really torturized. Thank you Jesus for dying for us and on the 3rd day rising from the grave!
Second, I and all the others are human and are oodles away from perfection. We do know that. And, others do know that as well. So, (speaking to myself) stop using that as a cop out! SERIOSULY, I have found that just makes people very mad and the conversation will end up in heated arguments.
So, now what? Well, children of God we know we are far away from perfection, but that still should be our goal. Jesus should be what we strive to be like. And, Jesus was perfect. While living on earth, I really don't believe we, humans will ever reach perfection. But, I do believe that when we spend our time face to face with Jesus, that is when we will have heavenly and glorified bodies that will never feel pain or decay and will be perfect in God's eyes!
Matthew 5:48
You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.Hebrews 10:26
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,1 Thessalonians 5:10
He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
Philippians 3:21
Who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.2 Corinthians 5:21
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
