Should We Just Wait Till We Hear.....

Who thinks you need to wait for someone to apologize and say sorry before you forgive them? I do! Scratch that I mean I did. Until, I heard from more mature Christians that we just need to forgive with or without the apology.  Did you know that?  I don't know what you think but I think that's really difficult to do! I mean sometimes don't you just want the person who wronged you to really own up to their error and basically kiss the ground you walk on and beg for your forgiveness after repeatedly saying how sorry they are?

I was kind of shocked when my Pastor said in one of his sermons that we never have to wait for the apology or point out the mistakes they do to us in their face. It is tempting at times to do just that. Am I correct?  I believe I touched on this in a previous thought before.  That, it's not our job to point out people's mistakes. Trust God to lay it in their hearts.  Oh, believe me I know how difficult that can be especially when they don't apologize; to forgive and forget? But, take it from me it does help when you ask God to help you forgive. Really, it does.

To be honest, there was a little part of me that was skeptical.  So, I decided  to do my own research in the bible and I really could not find the exact phrase of "forgive others even if they don't apologize." So, I prayed first for some understanding and for God to lead me to a deep thought regarding this.  And, this is what I am thinking,  As I said before in a prior thought, if you are a true believer in Christ,, your goal is to one day be like Him right?  Well, we know He is the forgiver of sins.   So, that is all I will say about that.

Pause, well I'm kind of having a mixture of a past writing mixed with today's.  I am talking about how does one forgive when that person is having a bad day? Does that ever happen to you guys? I am pretty sure it does. It's like really God? Anyway, I guess pray?

I am not going go say it's a rapid change of forgiveness.  However, God does know your heart.  He knows if we want to forgive a person.  Friends, like I said it really takes time. Who knows maybe someday the person who wronged you will give the heartfelt apology you truly do deserve.  Maybe not? Do you need to forgive?

Forgive our sins, as we forgive everyone who has done wrong to us. And keep us from being tempted.’ ” (‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭4‬ CEVUK00)

If you forgive others for the wrongs they do to you, your Father in heaven will forgive you. (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬ CEVUK00)
