Part 7 Dependence On God Series: Depending On The Word Of God Is Really Helpful!

Let me guess what you were primarily thinking as soon as you saw the title of Part 7. Perhaps the term "What!" Something to that nature? Possibly rolling of eyes? A question mark popping in your mind?  As my pastor always says, but I will use viewing audience and say something like I believe my viewing audience has inquiring minds so you understand what I'm trying to get at. :)

Let me explain my thought and it is up to you guys if you will agree. Cool? Ok, I can see how depending on something that doesn't really have life and is just really words is weird.  But, I guess it just depends on how you guys really see things. Depending on the word of God for me is real, oh so real! Philippians 4:13 for example says, " I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." I depend on that! Remembering and meditating on that verse really helps and somewhat cleanses my mind and tames feelings of weakness I may have.

I truly believe there really is power in the word of God. When, I feel stressed, worried, angry, weak, confused, etc etc I try to turn to the Word to help me and speak words of comfort.  Sometimes, it really works.  Not all the time, but sometimes. Also, having his words in your mind helps a lot too.  My husband, Joe suggested memorizing the book of James. So, now we're almost done with Chapter 1! We still forget sometimes, but it is a work in progress. I try to remember that God does indeed know our hearts. Friends, depending on the word of God really helps me and it can help you too, Try reading it!

*Let me share, what I read this morning from my daily bread devotional.

" Familiarity from the Word of God, or the God of the word, breeds affection, and affection seeks yet greater familiarity. As you open your Bible, remember that God - the one who loves you the most - has a message for you."    ~Po Fang Chia

*Psalm 119:103

How sweet are your words to my taste sweeter than honey to my mouth.

*‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16-17‬ NIV

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

* Matthew 4:4 NIV

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ”

* Matthew 24;35 NIV

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
