Part 8 Dependence On God Series: Don't Expect Dependency In Return

Maybe this isn't an issue for some and maybe it is. My thought on that is to not expect it. Might be disappointed? People just might be doing you favors and it isn't really mandatory for one to be dependable. Well unless there is some sort of mutual agreement between you and the other party? If that's the case, that is between you and the other party.

What I can say is God wants us to love one another right? And being dependable I think shows love. You might be wondering well, what if the other person is highly undependable and isn't paying me back the money they owe me?! So, does that mean we can't be mad? I will say God wants us to love one another. And, I will let you guys figure out the rest of the answer. You guys are smart!

I will say that I don't think the other person should shove that in your face as a means for payback. I am sure the other party knows they depended on you at an earlier time. But, I don't think it's our place or even kind of fair to remind them. I know there are times when I ask people for a favor I may answer with remember that time when? I should really stop doing that. I feel it's kinda like forcing God's will to happen the way I want it to happen. You know? I think I am making sense. I may not be putting it in the right words, but I pray that you understand. You will. :)

The bottom line is guard your hearts and don't expect the good deed or time they depended on you to come as a return policy. Because, you just may be disappointed, then it might turn into a fight then blah blah.... Who wants that blah blah right?

Luke 6:35 (NIV)
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
