We Need Church Series Part 8: Greetings

When my Aunt who lead me to The Lord first brought me to a church filled with born again christian believers at age 15, I remember her telling me that I needed to pray that God would bring me Christian friends. So, as time passed God answered and I had some Christian friends along with Non Christian friends of course. Anyway, so I went to this new church as I was saying, and perhaps my Aunt wasn't that surprised considering she used to go to another Born Again Christian church.  But, I was really surprised when the people in the congregation were so talkative, really friendly, and were even hugging me. See, I was not expecting that at all. But, it was pretty nice. I could tell that they actually really cared about me. In time, God did his thing and brought me Christian friends!

Fast forward to today's time, and that is exactly what I discovered from reading the scriptures.  I discovered that's how God wants his children to be. The word I am thinking is loving. When it's time during services to just approach someone and give them a handshake or hug or just check on how they are doing, that is a way of people showing love to their brother or sister in Christ. I need that. You might need that too! Why not check out a church you feel The Lord wants you to check out and see what I'm talking about?

And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. (‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬ NIV)

Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ. (‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ NIV)
