We Should Not Judge?!
Well now, judging? I think it is safe to say that 'judging' an iffy subject. Well, it is for me at least. I chose to address this topic because one night my husband and I were doing our nightly bible devotion and the subject of judging came up. So, let me share some thoughts....
Ok, correct me if I'm wrong or not because this will just be a deep thought. But, in our bible devotion, scripture emphasizes on not judging. That makes sense right? Well, don't judge to a certain extent. meaning if your brother or sister is doing wrong, we honestly will probably end up judging, either to them or in our minds. You know what I mean? Perhaps, what we could do is tell them in a calm and serene voice. Otherwise, an argument will be born. I want to really stress if you keep to a soft voice then the end result will fall in your favor. However, a couple days ago, I did just that. Meaning, I kept my voice down from a yelling voice and sounded genuinely nice and friendly. But, sometimes that doesn't work and to people it won't matter what volume you use to say things. The actual words might upset the person big time! I guess at those situations you really need to keep your mouth shut in order to pass an argument.
When people start judging me to my face, of course my initial reaction is anger. Remember that whole thing I mentioned in past thoughts about how God really doesn't want us to get angry?However, he does want us to show love to one another. So, my thinking is if judging someone or vice versa will only cause anger from both parties, then let's just try to shy far away from entertaining judging right?
Matthew 7:1-5 ESV
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
Luke 6:37 ESV
“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;
