Since my last article pertained to my recent vacation, I thought of another interesting experience from my trip. Ok, this happened where we stayed which was at the Best Western in Vallejo, California. Joe and I thought, we had bought and brought everything for our trip. Well, what had happened was the original plan didn't end up happening, so that left Joe and I without toothpaste. I know EWWW right?
So, after sight seeing and spending time with family, when we all got back to our hotel, Joe and I forgot to ask the drivers to stop somewhere and get toothpaste! When we got to the front desk, we asked if they had any toothpaste. Unfortunately, they didn't have any. But, what they did have were toothbrushes with toothpaste already on them! Me and Joe were at the same time confused and shocked actually thinking how awesome that was! So, before bed when it came time to brush our teeth we used it and it was good enough I guess. It didn't give the same satisfaction that actually tooth paste would give but it sufficed. The next day, Joe and I found out that the temporary satisfaction didn't quite work in the morning so we borrowed some from my mom and then ended up getting our own toothpaste.
Kinda reminded me of our lives right? Our lives here on earth gives us a temporary satisfaction, But, don't we all want to be eternally satisfied? Friend, you may have a glorious life right now with minimal or occasional problems? Maybe, you are a millionaire and everybody around the world knows just who you are because you are just that famous? On the flipside, maybe you think you're just a nobody with tons of health problems, or other problems that to you seems never ending?
I have good news for you! God knows your name! God sees your problems and he can help you with them! God even blesses you to be a millionaire or famous, or what have you if he chooses to! If you are the one who does not have such a good life right now, with all those health problems, please know that if you accept Him in your life know that that God cares and you will be basking in glory one day! All the good and the bad will one day be gone. We can't take our riches or anything with us when we die. So, instead of putting all concentration on storing up what is temporary, let's focus on the eternal right? I see it like this: that temporary feeling of satisfaction the weird toothbrush with toothpaste gave will not be an issue in Heaven, because all God's children will always feel eternally satisfied! Who all wants that?
