Weird Memory!

My husband seriously gets so amazed sometimes by my memory. See, all I will use as my excuse to having a good memory is because with MS my memory is not your normal memory so to speak.  I am certainly not insinuating that MS guarantees all who are diagnosed with MS have a weird memory, but I will say that since MS is a disease that messes with my brain , I can remember things that I don't want or want to remember. Joe gets so impressed when I remember numbers as well.  Seriously folks, my memory could  shock you.

I really wish I could forget things sometimes. Did you know that once you ask for forgiveness for a sin you gave to God, that after he forgives you he forgets about it immediately. He will never bring it up in your mind again! I know you all are probably thinking but...I remember.... Well, all I'm going to say is if you gave it to God and asked for forgiveness, then your slate was made clean. Meaning, the sin was forgiven! That means, it's forgotten.  So, those thoughts we do get of our past sin may be put in our minds, but it wasn't by God. I really hate that too, but when that happens I say out loud that sin was given to God or I forgave this person or apologized to this person.  Friends, you did your part.  Oh, do I know it's super difficult, but that's all we could do.We really need to remember that we cannot force someone to forgive us.

Please don't misunderstand me. I do believe that God will do the rest, but we still have to do what the spirit is telling us to do as well. Remember, God is not a genie so we still have to do our parts too.  What I mean is, since God is not a genie if we ask for money we shouldn't expect to be amillionaire unless God wills it right? We still have to do our part and if God says this is the job he is providing for you to make that money then there's your money!

Bottomline, if someone apologizes to you about something and you forgave that person forget about it forever and show that person love again. Believe me I know easier said than done! I still get bad thoughts about people that revisit in my mind sometimes. My deep thoughts targeted to myself as well are to read the bible and see for yourself what God says about forgiveness. I myself need to work on forgetting more than remembering if I already gave it to God.

Isaiah 43:25 ESV

“I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

Philippians 3:13-14 ESV

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

1 John 1:9 ESV

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Proverbs 10:7 ESV

The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.

Colossians 3:13 NIV

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Ephesians 4:31-32 NIV

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other,

Matthew 18: 21-22 NIV

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when the sins against me? Up to seven times? “Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
