My plethora of family and friends derive from all different racial, social, religious, etc. backgrounds. I know atheists, agnostics, believers, semi-believers, kids who go to church and believe just to obey their parents. You get what I mean. We get along great! I believe the evil one will do his best to make an argument or fight between us happen, But, that is why I try to keep the phrase from that bible verse in mind to "Love one another." The Lord knows that isn't the case 24/7 but I suggest to you guys and myself to always have that in mind. Watch out what words you use when we talk to people who have different views regarding tender topics. Remember these people are your family, friend, acquaintance, or other. Show them respect by listening to their views. Don't criticize or be mean. Speak in love. I know that definitely can be difficult at times. But, just like mama says if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all!
The goal really is to meet the other party in the middle and have common ground. Call on Jesus to help you and He will! I have really gotten into my share of disputes or arguments with various people who just did not agree with me because it's the human thing to do. Maybe, keep your conversations focused on commonalities between you and the other party. I guess I will strongly repeat to be conscious of your words and speak words in love!

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
