I really hate that and it's so uncomfortable. I'm talking about when I choose to wear my contacts like other fellow contact wearers, and it just feels weird. Sometimes I have no idea what happens, but my contact feels so weird like some makeup or dirt might have gotten on it or it could be ripped. One time I was telling Joe that my contact felt so weird and he said take it out. Why didn't I think of that? Anyway, I took it out and he examined it and saw that it was ripped!
Kind of like our lives right? We get so annoyed and frustrated when things just don't go as planned or just get interrupted by something. I didn't plan for my contact to get ripped! Sometimes I wonder why God allows certain circumstances or things to interrupt what's already going pretty good. You understand what I mean? I don't think we will ever know until we get to heaven and ask him face-to-face, " God, why did you allow this at this point or why did you allow this at that point?" Who wouldn't get frustrated and angry when for example, you're on your way driving to work trying to get to a really important meeting that will decipher whether or not the boss will keep you employed. Uh oh, you are struck with a flat tire, and end up being extremely late for that meeting. You lost your job. Why did God allow that?
Okay, I'll share my thoughts. Maybe, God allowed that because he had something better planned for you? Maybe, God allowed that because he was preventing you from something that might have destroyed your marriage? I remember a while ago my pastor shared a story that got me thinking so that's why God allows things to happen! The story was about a man getting too friendly with a lady friend at his job. God wanted to prevent the marriage from falling into disaster so that is why He allowed the man to lose his job.
I have no idea why God would allow stuff like that to happen. But, really it is His choice and will. But, we just have to trust that whatever He does allow is what was best for us. Believe me I know that is so hard and difficult to do, but we really need to remind ourselves that in order to stay sane. Indeed,
God only wants what's best for us.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. (Hebrews 12:10 NIV)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5 NIV)
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 NIV)
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. (Proverbs 16:9 ESV)
