I know I used to do it a lot when I was younger. I probably still do it now. Not as much because I think I've grown to become more aware of at least thinking of how to make things right. But, I know it can just be super difficult to ignore.
Do you guys like to ignore conflict? Why waste your time coming face to face with it, when it might just end up worse than it is. Well, let me tell you what I think. I honestly think we should never ignore conflict. From my experience, when I ignore the conflict a handful of things tend to happen. First, I end up having a different and negative view of the person without hearing the other persons side of their story. Second, the atmosphere when you are with this person will just be weird and not comfortable. Third, I may end up losing a friend over something that really was pretty petty.
Growing up and even today, I see the ignoring of conflict a lot. I see friends and family and myself choose to ignore and not face the conflict either just to make themselves seem really nice or maybe they honestly don't care. So, to reiterate along with what I stated above just don't to do it. I don't think God wants us to do that. Because remember God is love and if there is some sort of conflict between you and the person where's the love right? I think Satan loves conflict. Who do we want to follow Satan or God?
Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs. (Proverbs 10:12 NIV)
A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends. (Proverbs 16:28 NIV)
Do everything in love. (1 Corinthians 16:14 NIV)
