Joy Williams: Do they see Jesus in me?

I feel really blessed this morning because I read the Daily Bread and let me give you a little synopsis of what it was about. A father was on his deathbed and was about to take his final breath. He was dying and two of his sons were born again Christians but one was not. The father told the two sons who know Jesus he will see them later. But, when it came to talking to his son who did not know Jesus the father just said goodbye son.

The son asked the father something about why he didn't say what he said to the others sons. Then the father said something like because the son doesn't know Jesus, he will not see him later. He would have known if his son knew and was assured of his salvation because of Jesus.

Friends, do you know Jesus? Friends, do you not know Jesus? Friends, do you have other friends who do or do not know Jesus? What is Jesus about? I believe that Jesus is about love! I believe that Jesus only wants us to show love to one another. That means if you know someone who does not know Jesus, then you have to try to introduce Jesus by your love for them.

I would not be able to tell you if that loved one is eventually going to accept Jesus. Please be mindful that it is not our job to make that person's heart feel like they need to follow Jesus. It is our job to introduce to other people who Jesus really is and what he is about. Are the people you meet being introduced to Jesus through your actions, through your love that you're showing to them? Hope so!
