The question in my title is directed to Believers in God. Because, think about it, unbelievers have completely lost it in the first place if they never even had it right? Let me explain what I am meaning. Believers in God, Church goers,, my question is once Sunday or Saturday or whenever you would have church is over, a couple hours later, or maybe the next day, would you find yourself as someone who lost that beautiful glow you had when you were at church? Do you notice that the fire you temporarily had for God is slowly diminishing or going down?
I know there are people who are like that. I have seen it. The word hypocrite comes to mind. However, I am no judge. Therefore, I do not have the right to point people out and call them out and embarrass them. You guys are smart. You guys know what I'm talking about. However, in order to put some bulk into my writing for the day I am going to call myself out.
Friends, we humans do not like to embarrass ourselves. We don't like to be publicly seen as a bad person, but when we get home and are in the comfort of an environment filled with people we can be ourselves around, it's a different story. We are all human, to reiterate, so I think we know what I'm talking about.
I know that Sam on Sunday mornings at church may be different sometimes later on in the week. Or, maybe even just a few hours later after church! The churchy glow that I temporarily had was becoming more and more dimmer by the second. The feeling of being on fire for Jesus was diminishing as the hours and the days went by.
Fellow believers, do you think that is attractive to non believers in Jesus Christ? Let me share some thoughts of what I feel some of their thoughts may be:
1. "Oh, those born again Christian Believers? Aren't they the same as us, unbelievers? They act so Godly and are on fire for Jesus on Sundays but then on Mondays did you hear what so-and-so said about so-and-so or did you hear what so-and-so did? The only difference between a Believer and non-believer is non believers can have more fun. I heard that the believers don't even drink to get drunk. Well at least not publicly".
2. " Oh you mean those bible thumpers They claim to know so much about the Bible yet they don't even follow what it says all the time."
I am pretty sure there are more thoughts that unbelievers have about believers. But, thank you God for making me remember those thoughts that I mentioned. Wow!
Now I'm going to flip the script and go back to speaking to believers. Fellow believers, do you think that all that I mentioned above would be attractive to unbelievers? Do you think that the unbelievers would want to know Jesus Christ? I'll let you guys think about that on your own. I'm going to leave you with my encouraging thoughts for the day.
Encouraging thought for the day:
To a fellow believer: why don't you invite a friend who is an unbeliever to church this Sunday? You don't think they would say yes? Why don't you try it and see how God can change that person's heart, and maybe the answer will be a yes.
To an unbeliever: why don't you try to go to church with someone you know that goes to church every Sunday?
