A Good Testimony

Before I start my writing, I would just like to give a shout out to a very nice lady who picked up my card from my lap because my hands were shaking as I was giving it to her . Thank you Deborah, and a very nice gentleman named Daniel. I pray that the two of you will be encouraged with my daily writings.

What do you guys think makes for a good testimony? A good testimony is your life being touched by the love of Jesus. For me, my own testimony of how I came to know Jesus is not what you would call a drastic change. I know of people who have stories of lives changing while they were so sinful. I even know someone who spent time in prison, and eventually came to know Jesus. Can you imagine? Prison was what he needed to go through in order for him to know Jesus.

So, would I say that there is a good testimony out there? A testimony that basically needs to be known by heart and expressed to unbelievers in order for them to accept the love of Jesus Christ?  I'm going to say that every testimony is good. Everyone is different with different ways of how they came to know Christ. I'm definitely not going to single out one testimony and say that it is certainly good and will guarantee an unbelievers' salvation. Because that is definitely not true. I don't know what is in the mind of God. Will he or she get saved because of the salvation they hear?  I don't know.

Let me share a few thoughts. When you are speaking with someone and sharing the love of Jesus, how do you do that? Well, my thoughts are telling me that we need to casually, it doesn't have to be formally, just share a personal story from your life of how you were redeemed by God from feeling like a slave to sin but are now experiencing the love of Jesus Christ!

Some people are not going to care to hear what you recently gave up for Jesus. Tell them what Jesus gave up for you. Maybe some people are going to care are what you did or what you were doing for Jesus, tell people what Jesus did for them.

Okay, personally, I am no theologian. I know, I guess, whatever the Lord wants me to know right now about the Bible. So, it's not like I made a lot of time to memorize some verses. I should but I don't.

The only thing that I have going for me that will possibly entice unbelievers to want to know Jesus is my own life. What am I doing in my life? What is my purpose for living? Is it a Purpose Driven Life? Who Am I Living For? How is accepting Jesus in my own life helped me personally live with multiple sclerosis? Ask yourselves that question but, of course, fill in the blank with whatever you do need help with.

Encouraging thought of the day

Be thankful for your health no matter how it is. Because my friend, you are alive!

Luke 8:39 ESV

“Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.

2 Timothy 1:8 ESV

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God,

Psalm 71:15-18 ESV

My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge. With the mighty deeds of the Lord God I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone. O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
