Is It More Bearable If...

I'm not the only one who has multiple sclerosis. I don't know, you might have it too. Probably not, but there may be some people out there reading my blog who do actually have it as well. And, I definitely hope that my thoughts that I share with you guys regarding how I deal with this horrible disease is a helpful tool for you guys who also suffer from it.

I have a friend who lives in my condo who also has it. It's kind of funny because this is how we met. This was when I was still using a cane. I just got home from work and I was walking and getting my mail. And, all of the sudden this lady walks up to me and she says "You have MS! " I was new to this disease and I was kind of startled and at the same time I felt at ease. Sounding surprised, I remember saying, "How did you know?" Now, after having this disease for more than 15 years, I can answer that question easily and I can totally pick people out of the crowd that have this disease.

The question and my title is, "Will that be more bearable?"  Honestly, for me, having a friend who also shares in having this disease is very comforting. I mean, it's like I just met this lady out of nowhere and she also has MS. She lives in my condo and I can text her anytime if ever I have a problem regarding MS.

I seriously feel so blessed! The Lord allowed us to meet at a time when he thought I really needed a friend to help me cope with my Ms, and at the same time, strengthen my legs. Let me explain.

You guys can determine in your minds and see how blessed I really was. Seriously, I felt like a little kid with this woman when I really need help doing things.  And, she always gave it.

I'll give you an example, Therese is a very good swimmer. She invited me to go to the pool with her to get some therapy just to move my legs and stuff.  She really took care of me. She's a lot older than me but she's a lot stronger than me. This lady would get me in the changing area, take off my clothes from top to bottom, put on my bathing suit. She would make sure I would not get hurt or drown. I actually went all the way to 9 feet before. I just met this woman and the Lord put in my heart that I can trust her. Now, I can say we actually went to the state building in Springfield to go speak with senators on how we can help people with this disease.

I see this as the Lord wants me to use my spiritual gifts. So, that is actually what I'm doing. For those of you who know me personally, you know how I am. Just yesterday, my husband said that I am easy to speak with. Well, to that I say, thank you Lord for making me that way! The good Lord deserves the props for that one!

I think the primary thing that will make having MS bearable is this. If you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, all things will definitely be bearable! That's what he said. He just wants us to ask Him for help! He wants everyone to that. Let's speak to God and let him know that we need him!

Encouraging thought of the day:

Do you have your doctor's email? Why don't you email him or her and tell them to have a good day!

Philippians 4:13 ESV

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
