This his is definitely what the Lord wants me to write about. Okay so first of all last night when I was in bed ready to go to sleep, I heard three gunshots in a row. Then less than a minute later sirens. I was a little spooked. Just a little. No need for me to be spooked I have God!
Okay, then this morning I was reading my daily bread devotional and guess what that was about? It was about the story of Cain and Abel. So, it's pretty clear what the Lord wants me to speak about today. Here we go!
I titled this writing just now. And what came to my mind was, "Violence Can Turn Deadly." Is that last statement something you would agree with?
The gunshots I heard last night were from people I have no idea who they are. I have no idea what was behind the shooting. There could be tons of reasons. All I know is whatever reason it was, it probably became deadly.
Another thought came to mind. Remember I have a good long term memory. I think it's part of the perks of MS. Like there are any LOL Anyway, I remember just eavesdropping and hearing a story. I'm pretty sure my parents did not voluntarily want to share this with me, an 8 year old. So, now I can vaguely remember. What I remember was that a relative had found his wife committing adultery with his friend. I guess they were doing the "S" word but don't quote me on that. And I really don't remember that part of the story. What I do remember was that when my relative found them he shot the guy, then his wife. Then, he shot himself. Isn't that a sad story? All I know is that they have pretty beautiful kids and very nice! I know that one of them is also a born-again Christian believer. Praise God!
So now let's go to the story of Cain and Abel in the Bible. Cain wasn't the best brother. He was mean to his brother Abel. He was jealous of the love God gave. Cain was jealous because God accepted Abel's offering to him. You guys may have remembered what happened next. Cain killed Abel. That was like one of the first times anger was being introduced. Coincidentally, that was also the first time murder ever happened. Anger can turn deadly.
I really don't exactly know like the chemical imbalance in your brain that is probably triggering the violence because of anger. I will say that those thoughts you may feel in your head are from the evil one. Remember he can put thoughts in your mind. But, he cannot read your thoughts. Maybe he sees your nonverbal actions, but he cannot read your thoughts.
I think the story with my relative is this. I don't think God had a gun in his plan. Believe me I know it's hard but I'm thinking forgiveness should have come into play. Taking the easy way out, though it may be difficult like murder, that is Satan's way of dealing with problems. AKA the wrong way!
Encouraging thought of the day:
Try your utmost, hardest not to be angry at anyone about anything today
